A Little About Me

Originally from Minnesota, U.S.A., I have been living and working abroad since 2014. I have a Bachelor of Music Degree in Flute Performance and a Philosophy minor from Concordia College (2012), MN, and a Masters Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Wyoming (2014) where I studied with Dr. Nicole Riner. In addition to these degrees I am a certified English as a Second Language teacher and a certified Music Together teacher.

It hasn’t been a straight path from Minnesota to Switzerland – I worked in the U.S.A., Busan, South Korea, Leysin, Switzerland, and Stuttgart, Germany all before I landed here in Zürich. I have taught music classes at the university level, English classes for children and adults, and private flute lessons for students of all ages and abilities. Now that I’m here in Zürich I draw on all of these experiences as a teacher and musician as I help my students achieve their goals.

In Switzerland we are lucky to be surrounded by so many different languages, cultures, and new experiences. As a flute teacher I’m able to accommodate my students by teaching in either German or English – in fact my experience as an English teacher allows me to help my students with their English at the same time that I help them reach their goals on the flute!

When I’m not teaching private lessons, Music Together classes, or English classes, you can find me exploring the mountains where my husband and I like to go climbing, skiing, and hiking on the weekends.
